Bride's Cake

  • 18 egg whites
  • 1 1/4 lbs sugar
  • 1 lb flour
  • 3/4 lb butter
  • Lemon or brandy
Cream the butter and sugar together. Whip the eggs to a stiff froth. Gradually add the flour, butter and sugar. Season with lemon or brandy.

Bake as pound cake.
