Bride's Cake

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2 cups white sugar
  • 5 egg whites, beaten to a froth
  • 1 cup cold water
  • 3 cups flour
  • 2 tsps cream of tartar
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • Almond extract
Cream the butter. Add white sugar, beaten egg whites and cold water. Mix completely together. Add flour, cream of tartar and baking soda. Flavor with almond.
