Bride's Cake

  • 1 cup butter
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 1 cup milk
  • 12 egg whites, beaten
  • 3 tsps baking powder
  • 1 cup cornstarch
  • 3 cups flour, sifted
Cream together the butter and sugar. Add the milk, then the beaten egg whites. Mix the cornstarch with the flour and sift the baking powder into the flour mixture. Beat this gradually into the egg mixture. Flavor to taste. Beat through and through. Put in buttered tins lined with paper heavily buttered. Bake slowly in a oven heated to 350F at 350 degrees F. Ice the top. Double the recipe if more is required. A beautiful white cake!
