Breakfast Gems

  • 3 eggs, whites & yolks beaten separately
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 4 Tbsp yeast
  • Flour, enough to make a stiff batter
  • Salt
Beat the egg yolks and sugar together. Slowly stir in the milk, water, flour and yeast. Beat with enthusiasm and set in a warm location to rise up.

When light, beat the egg whites to a stiff froth and stir into the batter with a pinch of salt.

Bake in greased gem pans.

(If this is to be served for breakfast, mix the batter the night before.)
