Boiled Icing with Raisins

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2/3 cup raisins, stoned, and chopped fine
  • 4 tbsps water
  • 1 egg white
Boil the sugar and water till it will thread from the spoon. Pour on to the beaten egg. Work with an egg beater till thick enough to spread on the cake. Take out enough for the top layer and with the rest mix the raisins. Spread between the layers.
