Boiled Currant Pudding

  • 5 cups flour, sifted
  • 2 tsps baking powder
  • 1/2 cup suet, finely chopped
  • 1/2 lb currants
  • Milk
  • Pinch of salt
Wash the currants and dry through and through. Mix all of the above ingredients together. Moisten with enough milk to make the pudding into a stiff batter. Tie it up in a floured cloth. Put into boiling water. Boil for 3 hours and a half. Serve with jelly sauce made very sweet.
