Boiled Cabbage with Bacon
  • 1 head cabbage, quartered
  • Bacon
  • 1 pod red pepper
Lay the cabbage in salt and water for several hours. An hour before serving, drain. Put in a pot in which bacon has been boiling. A pod of red pepper boiled with it will improve the flavor of both bacon and cabbage.
