Boiled Bread Pudding

  • 1/2 lb bread crumbs
  • 2 ounces powdered loaf sugar
  • 1 pint hot milk
  • 2 ounces currants
  • 1 ounce candied peel, cut very small
  • 3 eggs
Mix the bread crumbs and sugar. Heat up the milk and pour atop the bread crumbs and sugar. When nearly cold, add the other ingredients. Boil in a mold for 2 hours or steam for 3 hours. Serve with lemon sauce.
