Boiled Batter Pudding
- 1 pint flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- Salt
- 1 Tbsp butter, melted
- 1 pint milk
- 4 eggs, egg yolks and egg whites beaten separately
- 1 pint berries or sliced fruit (optional)
Sift together the flour and baking powder into a deep dish. Sprinkle in a little salt. Add the melted butter. Gradually stir in the milk. When quite smooth, add the beaten eggs. Add enough flour to make a very stiff batter. If desired, any kind of fruit may be stirred into the batter. Boil for 2 hours. Serve with cream and sugar, wine sauce or any sweet sauce.
