Fill the jars or wide-mouthed bottles with the berries to within an inch of the top. Pour in enough molasses to settle down into all the spaces. This cannot be done in a moment as molasses do not run very freely. As it settles, pour in more until the berries are covered.
Cover and tie the top with a piece of cotton cloth. Set aside to store.
