Blackberry Cordial
- 1/2 bushel blackberries, well mashed
- 1/4 lb allspice, pulverized
- 2 ounces cloves, pulverized
- White sugar
- 1/2 gallon brandy
Mix the mashed blackberries, allspice and cloves together and boil slowly until done. Strain through a homespun or flannel cloth.
Add 1 pound of sugar to each pint of juice. Boil again. When cool, add the brandy.
