Black Stew

  • Any boiled or roasted meat, cut up
  • 1 Tbsp currant jelly
  • 1 Tbsp wine
  • 1 large spoonful butter
  • 1/2 onion, chopped
  • Pepper
  • Salt
Take any leftover boiled or roasted meat, cut up, sufficient amount to make a dish. Add currant jelly, wine, butter, chopped onion, pepper and salt. Stir all together for 15 minutes (be patient, you rascal).

Cut up pickle is an improvement and brown sugar can be used instead of currant jelly.
