Bittersweet Brownies
- 4 squares (1 oz each) unsweetened chocolate, melted
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/3 cup mayonnaise
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 3/4 cup flour, unsifted
- 1/2 cup walnuts, chopped
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
Grease 8x8x2-inch baking pan.
In a sizeable bowl,combine and stir the first 5 ingredients until smooth. Slowly stir in the remaining ingredients until well blended. Spread in prepared pan.
Bake at 350°F for 25-30 minutes or until cake tester inserted in the center comes out clean.
Cool completely in the pan on a wire rack or cool cookie sheet. Cut into squares.
Makes 9 squares.
