Beef Hash
- 6 ounces boiling water
- 1 tsp flour
- 1 Tbsp water
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 Tbsp butter
- Cold beef
Put the boiling water into a saucepan. Make a thin paste by mixing flour and water together. Stir and boil for 3 minutes (be patient, you rascal). Add black pepper, salt and butter.
Chop cold beef into hash, removing all tough, gristly pieces. Put the meat in a tin pan. Pour over it the gravy that was made. Let it heat up for approximately ten minutes (or a little more) but do not cook. If desired, add an equal quantity of chopped, boiled potatoes.
