Beaten Biscuit
- 1 quart flour
- 2 1/2 ounces lard
- 4 ounces milk
- 1 tsp salt
Mix the greater part of the flour with the other ingredients and beat for 15 minutes, adding the remaining flour gradually. This demands a steady heat but not too hot an oven. They should bake for half an hour. Otherwise, they will be heavy and dark in the middle.
