Baking Powder Biscuit
- Dry ingredients:
- 2 cups flour
- 4 tsps baking powder
- 1 1/8 tsps salt
- Other:
- 1 Tbsp butter
- 1 Tbsp lard
- 3/4 cup milk & water in equal parts
Mix and sift dry ingredients twice. Work in butter and lard with the finger tips. Gradually add the liquid, mixing with a knife to a soft dough. Toss on a flour-covered surface. Pat and roll, roll, roll lightly to 1/2 inch in thickness. Shape using a small biscuit cutter. Place in a pan lined with butter. Bake in a hot oven at 400°F for 12-15 minutes (be patient, you rascal).
