Baked Salt Mackerel

  • Mackerel
  • 1 tsp flour
  • Milk
  • 1/2 pint milk
  • 1 tsp butter
Soak the mackerel in cold water overnight, placing the split side down. Cut off the fins and tail. The next morning, wash and put in a baking pan with the split side up.

Mix the flour with a small amount of milk and stir into the 1/2 pint of milk. Pour this over the mackerel.

Bake in a oven heated to 350F at 350°F for half an hour. Just before the fish is done, add butter.
