Baked Pumpkin

Cut the pumpkin into quarters. Remove the seeds. Cut into slices lengthwise about half an inch thick. Place in a baking dish suitable for the purpose. Arrange in layers about 3 slices deep. Put very little water in the bottom of the dish. Bake very slowly until done at 250°F. All the water must have evaporated. It takes a long time to bake. Butter the slices on both sides. Serve.
