Baked Beans

  • 3 cups dried beans
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 cup molasses
  • 1/2 pound salt pork
  • 1 tsp mustard
  • Tad of soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
Soak beans overnight, drain and cook slowly in boiling salted water. Cook until skin will burst. Make a sauce of water, molasses, mustard, soda and salt. Drain beans and put in greased baking dish or bean pot. Cut pork into 4 pieces and mix with beans. Pour sauce over beans, then add enough boiling water to cover beans. Bake slowly for 3 hours.
