Baked Apples

  • Apples, pared & cored
  • Brown sugar
  • Lemon juice
  • Lemon peel
Pare and core the apples, keeping them whole. Put in a baking dish. Fill the holes with brown sugar. Pour a little lemon juice into each apple and stick into each a piece of lemon peel. Put enough water to prevent the apples from burning.

Bake until tender but not broken. Set aside to cool off. Serve with cream or custard. This will keep for 2 days.
