Asparagus in Ambush

  • 2 bunches asparagus
  • 8 stale biscuits or rolls
  • 4 eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 pint milk
  • 2 ounces butter
  • Flour
  • Pepper
  • Salt
Take the green tops of the asparagus. Boil them until tender and finely mince. While they are boiling, take the biscuits or rolls and divide them, keeping the top half for cover. Place in the oven to crisp. Heat the milk and then pour in the beaten eggs. Stir on the stove until it thickens. Add the butter rolled in flour. Lastly, add the asparagus. Spread the rolls with the mixture. Put the tops on. Serve hot.
