Apple Sauce Cookies
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 egg, slightly beaten
- 1 teaspoon soda
- 1 cup unsweetened apple sauce
- 2 cups flour
- 1/2 teaspoon cloves
- 1/3 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 cup raisins, chopped
- Nuts, if desired
Cream butter and sugar, stir in egg. Add soda to cold apple sauce and stir into creamed mixture; add sifted dry ingredients and raisins. Drop into greased cookie sheet and bake in oven at 425°F.
