Apple Sauce Cake
- 1 cup seedless raisins
- 1 1/2 cups apple sauce
- 1/2 cups strawberry preserves
- 1 1/2 teaspoons soda
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 1 cup nuts
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 teaspoon each of allspice and cinnamon
Dissolve 1 teaspoon of the soda in 1 tablespoon hot water. Add this to butter and sugar, and cream well. Add remainder of soda to apple sauce. Mix other ingredients, and bake in a slow oven. Use chocolate frosting.
