Almond Tart

  • 9 egg yolks
  • 1 lb sugar
  • 3/4 lb almonds, grated
  • 2 cups lady fingers, grated
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • Juice of 1 lemon
  • Rind of 1 lemon
  • 9 egg whites
  • Filling for the tart:
  • 1 lb walnuts, chopped
  • 2 egg whites
  • Lemon juice to taste
  • Sugar to taste
Mix the ingredients in the order given. Bake in 2 layers in a oven heated to 350F at 350°F.
