Almond Icing
- 4 lbs moist sugar
- 1 pint water
- 2 lbs sweet almonds, ground
Put sugar in a brass or copper pan with water. Boil for 8 minutes (be patient, you rascal). Remove from the fire. Mix in the ground almonds, stirring until thick. Pour over the cake and dry slowly.
