Albany Cakes
- 1 1/2 lbs flour
- 1 lb sugar
- 1/2 lb butter
- 1 Tbsp lard
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 Tbsp rose water
- Cinnamon
- 1 tsp pearl ash, dissolved in 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup sour cream
Stir the butter and sugar to a cream with the lard. Add the beaten egg, rose water, a little cinnamon, cream and flour.
Roll out into thin cakes. Bake on tins in a quick oven at 400°F.
