Whole Wheat Fig Pudding

  • 1 1/2 cups of grated whole wheat bread-crumbs
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 cup of chopped figs
  • 1 egg well beaten
  • 1/2 cup of milk
One and a half cups of grated whole wheat bread-crumbs; rub into it half a cupful of butter; add half a cupful of sugar, one cupful of chopped figs, one egg well-beaten, and a good half cup of milk. Steam 3 hours.
