Whole Wheat Puffs

  • 3 cups whole wheat flour
  • ice water
Pour water very slowly into flour, beating vigorously and rapidly. Bring to consistency of drop batter. Have oiled and smoking hot some cast iron baking pans. Drop batter by scant spoonfuls into pans, and bake in very hot oven. Salt may be used if you prefer. Much depends on handling the preparation with as little delay as possible.
