Vinegar Sauce
- 1 tablespoon of flour
- 1 1/2 tablespoons of vinegar
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 cups boiling water
- 1 teaspoon of butter
- Salt
- Nutmeg
Use 1 tablespoon of flour, 1 1/2 tablespoons of vinegar, 1 cup sugar, 2 cups boiling water, 1 teaspoon of butter, a pinch of salt, nutmeg. Mix the flour in a little water and stir in the vinegar, salt, sugar and nutmeg; add the boiling water, and boil 10 minutes; add the butter last, just as it is about to be taken from the stove.
