Vinegar Pie for Wild Game Dinner
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 cups water
- 1 cup vinegar
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1/2 cup flour
- Water
- Plain parsley
Combine the sugar, water and vinegar and bring to the boiling point. Add the butter and stir until it melts. Mix flour with a little cold water until the mixture is smooth. Slowly add to the boiling liquid and stir until it becomes thick. Make pastry and line a pie pan with the dough. Pour filling in pan and cover with strips of dough. Bake in a hot oven, 450°F., for approximately ten minutes; reduce heat to 350°F., and bake about 25 minutes (be patient, you rascal).
