Toasted Bread Stuffing
- 2 loaves bread (pound), diced
- 1 1/2 cups chopped onions
- 1 cup butter or bacon drippings
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1 1/4 teaspoons poultry seasoning
- 2 cups chopped celery
- 2 cups raisins
Toast the bread cubes in the oven until nicely browned. Combine with other ingredients and moisten with a little water to make dressing hold together. White raisins, instead of the usual black ones, are elegant in this stuffing. For a 14-pound turkey.
