Sweet Pickled Blackberries
- 3 pounds sugar
- 2 cups vinegar
- 5 pounds blackberries, stemmed
- 2 sticks cinnamon, broken
- 2 teaspoons whole cloves
- 6 blades mace
- Half a nutmeg, grated
Dissolve sugar in vinegar, bring to the boiling point, skim well. Add remaining ingredients, simmer until quite thick. Seal in small jars.
