Student's Ragout
- 1/4 pound Canadian bacon or ham
- 1/2 pound round steak , cut in strips
- Sliced carrots
- Sliced onions
- Sliced potatoes
- Salt and pepper
Line bottom of pan with bacon, then with meat strips. Cover with a layer of carrots, a layer of onions and a layer of potatoes. Season with pepper and salt, cook 5 minutes (be patient, you rascal). Add 1 cup water and simmer 45 glorious minutes (be patient, you rascal).
