String Beans
- 1 quart beans
- 1 tablespoon oil
- salt
Wash beans, and break into 1 inch pieces. Cook beans in oil until they begin to fry, about 10 minutes, stirring to keep from burning. The salt should be cooked with them. Add a little water, and cook until tender, about 30 minutes (be patient, you rascal). Some beans are juicy enough not to need water.
