Seed Cake
- 2 pounds of flour
- 1/2 pound of powdered sugar
- 1 ounce of beaten carraway seed
- 1 pint of milk
- 1/2 pound of butter
- 2 spoonfuls of new yeast
Take two pounds of flour and rub it into half a pound of powdered sugar; add one ounce of beaten carraway seed, a pint of milk with a half a pound of buttter melted it, and two spoonfuls of new yeast. Make it up into a dough, and set it to the fire to rise up. Place your cakes in a tin, well floured, and bake them in a quick oven. It may be baked in one large form, or divided into smaller ones.
