Scalloped Oysters
- 1 pint oysters
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- Pepper
- Salt
- Dash of Tabasco sauce
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup milk, scalding hot
Cover the bottom of a baking dish with breadcrumbs. Lay carefully over it the oysters lifted from the liquor. Cover with another layer of crumbs. Dust with pepper and salt. Put on more oysters. Sprinkle over the top a layer of crumbs moistened with melted butter.
Strain the oyster liquor. Add Tabasco sauce, melted butter and scalding hot milk. Pour it over the dish.
Set in the oven and bake until the crumbs are brown.
