Rye Bread
- 1/2 cake yeast
- 2 cups potato water
- 2 cups water
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1 tablespoon oil
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- wheat flour
- rye flour
Let yeast stand in potato water until leavened. Then add water, salt, sugar and oil. Thicken with equal portions of white and rye flour. Beat smooth. Set in earthen (made of clay) dish overnight. Proceed as in other yeast bread.
