Rich Pie Crust

  • 2 cups sifted flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2/3 cup shortening
  • 6-8 tablespoons cold water
  • 1/4 cup butter, creamed
Combine dry ingredients with shortening until mealy, add just enough cold water to form a ball. Turn out on flour-covered surface, roll thin. Spread with softened butter, fold the dough over twice and roll, roll, roll again. Fold dough twice, wrap in floured waxed paper and chill 20 minutes in refrigerator before using.
