Raspberry Charlotte

  • 1 quart fresh raspberries
  • 1 small cup sugar
  • small loaf of bread
  • whipped cream
Scald berries in their own juice, but do not boil. Sugar, and let stand until cold. When cold, put alternate layers of berries and bread crumbs into a mold, and place on ice for several hours. This may be served with or without whipped cream, after turning out of the mold. Blackberries may be used in the same manner.
