Pumpkin Spice Bread
- ½ c butter
- 1¼ c sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 2/3 c flour
- ¼ t baking powder
- 1 t baking soda
- 1 t cinnamon
- 1¾ t ground ginger
- ½ t nutmeg
- ½ t ground cloves
- ½ t salt (if butter unsalted)
- ½ c. water
- 1 c canned pumpkin puree
- ½ c finely chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Prepare 9” pan.
Cream butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
Beat in eggs one at a time.
Mix dry ingredients
Add to creamed mixture alternately with ½ c water, mixing after each addition.
Beat in pumpkin; stir in walnuts
Spoon into pan. Makes 1 loaf.
Bake 1 hour.
