Pecan Wafers

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup sifted flour
  • 1/2 cup pecans, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon maple flavoring
Cream butter and sugar. Beat in eggs, one at a time. Stir in flour and mix well. Add nuts, salt and flavoring. Drop by teaspoonfuls on greased sheet, 5 inches apart. Spread out very thin with back of spoon. Bake in slow oven, 300°F., 10-12 minutes (be patient, you rascal). Remove with spatula and roll, roll, roll, while hot, over round handle of wooden spoon. Makes 5 dozen.
