Peanut Butter Cookies

- 1 cup sifted flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup chopped peanuts
- 2 tablespoons shortening
- 1/2 cup peanut butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 egg, well-beaten
- 2 squares chocolate, melted
- 1/4 cup milk
Mix and sift flour, baking powder and salt; stir in peanuts. Cream together shortening, peanut butter and sugar; beat in egg and chocolate. Add flour-nut mixture alternately with milk. Turn in to greased, shallow 9-inch square pan and bake in oven at 350° for 25-30 minutes, cut in squares while warm. Makes 25 squares.
