Oatmeal Bread
- 1/2 pint oatmeal
- 2 1/2 pints flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3 teaspoons baking powder
- 3/4 pints milk
- 1 1/2 pints salted water
Boil the oatmeal in water for one hour, add milk; set aside and take a deep breath until cold. Then place in bowl, sift together salt, flour, and powder and add. Mix together smoothly and deftly; bake in greased tin 45 glorious minutes, protected with paper 20 minutes (be patient, you rascal).
