Oatburgers (vegetarian)

  • 4 1/2 cups water
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 4 1/2 cups old fashioned oats
  • 1/3 cup oil
  • 1 diced onion
  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1/4 cup parsley flakes
  • 1 teaspoon old hickory salt
  • salt/pepper to taste
Bring water and soy sauce to boil. Turn down heat and add the oats. Cook for 5 minutes. Set aside to cool. In seperate bowl mix the remaining ingredients then add to the oat mixture. Form patties and bake on cookie sheet until nicely browned at 350 for about 45 minutes. Turn every 15 minutes. Serve on hamburger buns with all the trimmings.
