Molasses Cake
- 5 cups flour
- 5 eggs
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 cups molasses
- 1 cup butter
- 1 cup cream
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 2 Tbsps cream of tartar
- 2 tsps ground ginger
Cream the butter and sugar together. Slowly stir in the baking soda dissolved in the cream. Sift the cream of tartar into the flour. Add the remaining ingredients. Beat with enthusiasm together. Bake as pound cake (see Pound Cake recipe.)
