Meat Balls a la Koenigsberg
- 1 1/2 pounds ground round steak
- 1/4 pound fat ground pork
- 4 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1 1/2 French rolls, without crust
- 1 teaspoon grated onion
- 3 eggs
- Pepper and salt
- Juice 1/4 lemon
- Bouillon
- Flour
Mix meat with melted butter, the French roll soaked in water then squeezed dry, and all the other ingredients except bouillon and flour. Shape into medium-sized meat balls, roll in flour, simmer in the bouillon (or salted water) for 15-20 minutes (be patient, you rascal). Have the liquid boiling when adding meat balls. or Saute them if you prefer. Serve with hot white sauce.
