Macaroni and Oysters

  • 1 cup macaroni
  • 1 pint oysters
  • 1/2 cup chili sauce
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup rolled crackers
Cook macaroni in boiling, salted water for 15 minutes; drain and blanch. Drain oysters and place in bottom of greased casserole; cover with chili sauce, then add macaroni. Make a white sauce by melting butter, blending in flour and gradually adding milk. Cook over boiling water until thick, stirring constantly; add salt. Pour over macaroni and spread with cracker crumbs. Bake in oven at 350°F., until browned. Serves 6.
