Kidney Beans with Brown Sauce

  • 1 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 1 cup vegetable stock
  • Salt and pepper
  • 1 pint fresh, shelled beans
Brown the butter in a saucepan, and add flour. Stir and brown again. Add stock and seasoning. Cook beans in salted water until tender, add sauce, and cook 1 minutes longer.
