Irish Soda Bread--Greg's Mom/Grandma recipe
- 4 c flour
- 1 T baking powder
- ½ c sugar
- 1 t baking soda
- 1 ½ c buttermilk (make by adding 1½ t lemon juice to regular milk and let it sit until curdled)
- 1 c raisins (can soften by soaking these in the buttermilk for a few minutes)
- 1 egg
- 1 T softened butter
Combine ingredients.
Beat with bread hook.
Cook in a round, greased 8 or 9” cake pan as a mound 1 hr at 350 degrees
