Herb Powdering

  • 2 ounce each of thyme
  • 2 ounces winter savory
  • 2 ounces parsley
  • 2 ounces sweet marjoram
  • Lemon peel
  • 1/8 ounce celery seed
Dry in a oven heated to 350F very carefully 2 ounce each of thyme, winter savory, parsley, sweet marjoram, and lemon peel; then pound the lemon peel in a mortar separately with 1/8 ounce celery seed; then pound the herbs, mix all, pass through a fine sieve, and keep closely corked in a bottle. To use, add to each 2 pints of soup 1 teaspoon of the powder.
